Residents of oThangathi north of Durban plan to take to the streets on Thursday in protest of a lack of water.
Their leaders have called for the shutdown of the town.
They say a large part of the area has been without water since the floods in April.
The floods destroyed the town’s main water treatment plant.
A contractor started construction on the R31 million project in mid-July and is expected to complete it in four months.
However, residents have been complaining about receiving inadequate water from tankers since April.
The aim of Thursday’s protest action is to get the Water and Sanitation Minister Senzo Mchunu to intervene.
