The Islamic Medical Association via its social welfare vehicle the Baytul-nur Trust recently purchased a property at 21 Candella Road, adjacent to its current headquarters at 22 Browns Grove, Sherwood, DURBAN. The purpose of the purchase of the property is to establish a frail care and assisted care facility with an Islamic ethos.
The ultimate objective is to convert the premises to a fully-fledged frail care centre and assisted care for all ages. The primary role of the frail care centre is to render care to individuals with physical, psychological, emotional and social needs that cannot be met within one’s own home.
The frail care centre would cater for a wide range of care services, with 40 beds available for short- or long-term stays, rehabilitative care, palliative care or end of life care.
Phase one is underway, with the professional team being appointed and preliminary design sketches being drawn.
Phase two will involve the passing of final development plans and to commence construction.
Your support will be appreciated for the continued success of the project which has been the wishes of the IMASA / Baytul Nur, and which is a much-needed facility.
Further, we will be hosting fund raising events from time-to time in order to fund the establishment of the facility.
Your donations to the establishment of the project will be sincerely appreciated.
