It is stated that whosoever dies in the state of Ihram will rise up from his grave on the day of Qiyamah, while he will be reciting Labbayk. [Bukhari, Virtues of Haj – page 28-29]
A South African hajjee passed away in Makkah just as he completed his hajj rituals.
Hajjee Al Haj NoorMohammed Ebrahim Haneker’s janazah salaah was held in the haram in Makkah on Monday 13 Dhul Hijjah after fajr salaah. Marhoom was from the Western Cape and was amongst the 750 other hujaaj that travelled for hajj this year with the Al Anwar Express group.
Allah plans better
According to reports by Al Anwar express group co-ordinator Moulana Abdul Rahmaan Laily, Marhoom hajjee Al Haaj suffered from epilepsy and was due to travel to Makkah 2 years ago to perform hajj, however plans changed due to medical reasons and he was invited by Allah Ta’ala to perform hajj this year. All part of Allah’s better plan.
Moulana Y.Mohammed, Imam of the local Masjid that Marhoom Al Hajj frequented in Western Cape was also on hajj this year and recalled his memory of Marhoom with Moulana Laily.
Moulana Mohammed recounts how marhoom Al Hajj had come to him 3 years ago requesting Moulana to make dua for him as he intended to go on hajj, but Allah knew best.
Special care
The Saudi authorities provide a special service to those hujaaj that are medically challenged or very elderly by taking them by busses to the various points in order for these hujaaj to complete their rituals.
Marhoom Al Hajj was also being transported in one of these busses along with his wife while they proceeded to Mina and Arafat. However it was after the pelting of the Jamarat when they were headed back to their camp that Hajee Al hajj became separated with his wife.
Marhooms wife became concerned and alerted her fellow group members. Based on Marhoom Al Hajj’s medical condition, a search ensued and led the team to the Al Mina Wadi Hospital in mina, where they were told that hajjee had been transferred to Jabal Rahmah hospital in Arafah. The team managed to trace Hajjee Al Hajj, but by the time the search team had managed to find hajjee, he had already returned to Allah Ta’ala, still clad in his Ihraam. Subhanallah!
Marhooms wife, daughter and son in law were notified of the passing of hajjee and returned smiles, comforted by the fact that Allah had accepted their husband and father, and he was returning to Allah in Ihraam.
“The manner in which they received the news was outstanding,” said Moulana Laily.
May Allah grant us the good fortune of meeting hajjee in Jannatul Firdaus where he will be raised reciting the talbiyah still clad in his ihram. Ameen.
