Winter time is synonymous with layers of cuddly warm clothing, fluffy blankets and comforting food.
These may seem like basic winter necessities to many, but to many underprivileged people it’s a luxury. A large majority of children and the aged live in abject poverty in South Africa. Hence the need for Operation Winter warmth, a Campaign that targets underprivileged children, the aged and the homeless in need across the country.
SANZAF’s signature seasonal project, Operation Winter Warmth is a yearly project launched nationally at all its offices in South Africa.
The dedicated team at SANZAF work with individuals, corporate donors, community and faith based service organizations looking to give back through marketing programs. In order for this initiative to be a success SANZAF works closely with manufacturers and transportation partners who provide in-kind support that helps the initiative run efficiently.
Operation Winter Warmth responds to local communities with a powerful, national advantage as it addresses the immediate and critical needs for appropriate clothing during the cold winter months.
“Operation Warm Warmth can be leveraged to go beyond warmth, to strengthen relationships between our partners and their communities and to facilitate positive outcomes that help break the cycle of poverty” said Sajid Dawray, National Chairperson of SANZAF.
Operation Winter Warmth advocates for awareness of the impact of poverty on families and communities, and demonstrates how even one person can make a positive difference in the life of a person in need.
