Former Lebanese Prime Minister Salim Al-Hoss announced on Tuesday that he would be starting a hunger strike in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails, Quds Net News reported.

Refaat Badawi, an adviser to the former prime minister, said that Al-Hoss announced his hunger strike during a gathering held in solidarity with Palestine.

The gathering, which was held in Dar Al-Nadwa in Beirut, was attended by several senior Lebanese officials, who stated their support for the Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike.

Al-Hoss is a veteran Lebanese politician, who served as an MP for Beirut for a long time before serving as prime minister for four terms.
