South Africa’s beaches are very popular during summer. Over the holiday season we flock to the coast and enjoy a good time in the sun.
But spending all this time outdoors can be harmful to your skin. The sun can cause damage and too much exposure can lead to wrinkles, marks, dry skin, and even cancer over time.
During the hottest season of the year we must take extra care to protect our skins.
But we often make mistakes, and forget about the fact that the sun might be harmful to our skins.
Here’s are six things or habits that can be harmful and should be avoided as far as possible. In no time at all your skin will be radiant.
Six things that can harm your skin this summer:
- Not using sunscreen: Wearing sunscreen can reduce your risk of skin cancer by 40-50%
- Eating the wrong foods: Too much of processed foods, fats and sugar can be bad for your skin
- Not moisturizing enough: Spending too much time in the pool can also dry your skin out
- Not drinking enough water: Skin cells are made up of water and need it to function
