Makkah — All government and private agencies involved in Haj services have completed their arrangements to enable the guests of Allah perform their rituals in ease, peace and comfort.
The Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques has prepared a thorough plan consisting of guidance and service aspects.
It has cleaned the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah and their plazas furnishing them with new carpets.
The presidency has provided electric cars and wheel chairs free of charge for special needs pilgrims.
Some 600 fans have been installed in the Grand Mosque and 250 umbrellas placed in the plazas of the Prophet’s Mosque.
According to the presidency, the capacity of the mataf (the circumambulation area around the Kaaba), which could earlier accommodate 19,000 circumambulating pilgrims an hour, has been increased to about 30,000 pilgrims an hour.
It said the mataf and the upper stories of the Haram can easily accommodate more than 107,000 pilgrims an hour.
The Presidency has prepared 30 trucks loaded with 1.5 million containers of Zamzam water to distribute among pilgrims in Arafat and Muzdalifah on Sunday.
Makkah Municipality has deployed 23,000 workers to clean the city and the Holy Sites during the five days of Haj. They will be working in shifts around the clock.
It has also placed enough garbage bins near slaughterhouses, barber shops, toilets, bakeries and other facilities.
The Health Ministry has supplied the eight general hospitals in Makkah with enough manpower, medicines and medial equipment. It has also prepared 25 hospitals and health centers in Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa making them ready to provide treatment to pilgrims.
The Civil Defense has mobilized about 17,000 personnel who will be using more than 3,000 rescue and firefighting equipment for the safety and security of pilgrims.
The General Syndicate of Cars has prepared about 17,000 buses for the transportation of pilgrims between Makkah and the Holy Sites.
