At least five people were killed and seven others injured after overnight drone attacks struck Russia’s Moscow and Leningrad regions on Tuesday, according to local authorities.
Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov said Russian air defences repelled a drone attack over the region, but the heaviest damage was reported in the Chekhov municipal district, where strikes ignited multiple fires in the Novosyolki industrial zone.
Emergency crews extinguished a major warehouse fire, while an electrical substation and an administrative building also sustained damage.
Vorobyov said five people were killed and six others injured in the Moscow region. In the village of Solnyshkovo, falling drone debris damaged a private home and a vehicle, though no casualties were reported there.
The governor added that Russian forces continued intercepting drones over the Volokolamsk, Klin, Chekhov and Serebryano-Prudsky districts.
