On 29 September 2025, Cii Radio’s Sabeelul Hayaat aired an enlightening episode titled “Wits Da’wah: Voices of Guidance”, featuring Hafidh Zahid Mulla in conversation with host Mas-oodah Jappie. The discussion offered listeners an inspiring glimpse into the mission, values, and activities of MSA Wits Da’wah—an initiative that continues to serve as a beacon of spiritual guidance, learning, and community building among Muslim students.

Hafidh Zahid Mulla painted a vivid picture of what Da’wah looks like in practice at Wits—not simply outreach, but mentorship and moral leadership; not merely speaking about faith, but living its principles. Through organised study circles, informal student gatherings, and campus-wide initiatives, the Wits Da’wah Committee aims to nurture both knowledge and character.

In the episode, Hafidh Zahid shared reflections on his own faith journey and what inspired him to engage in Da’wah. At a time when young people are navigating complex identities and values—often distanced from spiritual traditions or clouded by stereotypes—the role of Da’wah becomes ever more vital. For many students, Islam is not only a religion but also a lens through which they seek meaning, belonging, and purpose.

At a university as diverse as Wits, effective Da’wah must be inclusive, intellectually grounded, and filled with compassion. Voices of Guidance reminded listeners that true Da’wah is never about coercion—it is about clarity, sincerity, and service.

As the MSA Wits Da’wah Committee continues to grow and reach out, its presence is felt not only in lecture halls and campus prayer spaces, but also in quieter moments—a listening ear, a shared du‘ā, a timely smile. These are the voices of guidance that truly move hearts.
