بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
We are human beings, and it is part of our nature to experience different emotions. At times we may feel sad, angry, lonely, or even depressed. We may find ourselves thinking negatively about everything and everyone around us. Life’s challenges can cloud our hearts, but as believers, we have a choice. We have a solution that prevents these emotions from making us forget Allah’s infinite mercy, His countless blessings, and His never-ending bounties.
Perhaps your income is not what you hoped for. You may be earning a small salary, struggling to make ends meet. But still — it is something, a means provided by Allah. So make shukr (gratitude), for there are others who have no means of income at all. Gratitude changes the lens through which you see life. It opens the door to barakah (blessings) and strengthens your connection with Allah.
The more you reflect on Allah’s mercy, the stronger your bond with Him becomes, and the clearer your understanding of life will be. There are four main channels that connect directly to the heart:
The eyes
The ears
The mouth
The mind
With your eyes, look upon the signs of Allah’s greatness — the creation of the heavens, the mountains, the oceans, and even your own reflection in the mirror. With your ears, listen to the remembrance of Allah, the recitation of Qur’an, and the words of wisdom that draw you closer to Him. With your mouth, speak about His greatness, share words of encouragement, and spread kindness. And with your mind, ponder deeply upon His creation, the miracle of your body, the purpose of your life, and the certainty of the Hereafter.
When these four channels are directed towards Allah, they nurture the heart, strengthen your imaan, and anchor your soul firmly on the path of truth.
Keep your tongue moist with the recitation of Laa ilaaha illallah — “There is none worthy of worship except Allah.” Do not just say it; understand it, live it, and let it shape your choices, your actions, and your heart.
Remember, this world is temporary, and our ultimate goal is to meet Allah with a heart that is sound. Every test is a reminder, every blessing is a gift, and every moment is an opportunity to turn back to Him.
I ask Allah to increase your desire to remain steadfast on the straight path, to make your journey easy, and to fill your heart with light and certainty. May He make your connection with Him so strong that no trial can break it, and no worldly temptation can weaken it.
