It is government’s job to control the minds of the people. The word government is derived from two Latin words, “gubernare”, which means “to control”, and “mente”, which means “the mind”. That is, the role of government is to “control the minds” of the people. I submit that it has not escaped my mind that the South African government is indeed in the business of controlling the minds of its people.
Three hundred years of racial and capitalist oppression meted out on the people in South Africa has heightened their tolerance for exploitation and exacerbated their proclivity to submit to the designs of government. Their demeanour is sheepish obeisance and hero-worship of criminals disguised as liberators. They are, however, not to blame. The organised criminal syndicate of government and the banking cartels now and again demonstrates its capability to violently deal with any unbridled inclinations.
It would seem that COVID 19 was the shock treatment that was required to usher in the future. A lot happened as a sequel to the pandemic; right-wing and liberal arrogance were merged into a new assertiveness that precipitated into a common desire to abandon the South African national project in preference for a white enclave at the southernmost tip of the African continent. What is more sinister is the probable collusion of the government in this scheme, and all indications are that the highest echelons of the ruling elite are in cahoots with the schemers.
The flimsy admissions of remiss in the intelligence agencies to detect the uprisings before they occurred is not acceptable. These are well-trained individuals and the recent efforts to blemish them with incompetence and corruption should be taken with a pinch of salt. The probability that there are more ‘good’ agents in the South African intelligence community is higher than what was suggested, and none of these agents’ fingerprints will be found in the crime scene that was the planning of the insurrection. Rather, there is a likely cover-up from high up in government and the intelligence community are the fall guys, given the cloak that they operate under. In fact, the refutation of the President’s labelling of the looting as an insurrection by the erstwhile Minister of Defence, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, is telling. However, I suppose she will only be able to tell all in a book once she is ensconced in the safety of retirement.
The absence of the police at the scenes of looting and their inaction when they were present is telling. Subsequent arrests and arraignments of the so-called organisers of the insurrection reek of a smokescreen. In fact, many of the charged individuals may prove to be howlers bereft of the capacity to organise an insurrection of such scale as what happened in 2021. In this instance, the power of social media is overrated as the insurrection displayed the hallmarks of strategic, or even military planning. And it could not have occurred without the complicity of people with a semblance of power.
The explanation for the burning of the parliament building in Cape Town in February 2022 by allegedly a lunatic vagabond does not make sense. My sense tells me that burning such a highly guarded building would require planning by more than one professional with something between his ears. The disablement of the electronic security systems is telling, and for a highly secured building like Parliament, could not have occurred without higher sanction. I posit here that the burning of Parliament cannot be delinked from the July 2021 insurrection.
The trending narrative is that all these major breaches in the security of the country are traceable to the simmering factionalism within the ranks of the ANC. Plausible as it may seem, it may be a deliberate obfuscation of the truth of the state of the country. Of all the players in this poker game, government holds all the aces, and it is in control. It is only government that had latitude to ensure that all what happened did not happen. The shock treatment that emanated from the drastic globally coordinated lockdowns of 2021 and the rip-off of South African taxpayers by the pharmaceutical cartels in the acquisition of pseudo-vaccines against the mythic COVID 19 was all of the making of government. We will also never find out what they were forewarned about in the days leading to the insurrection. They will also never tell us the reasons why Parliament was burnt down. And they are the only ones that have the capacity to know.
Given the above, the government is a likely culprit in the staging of all the mishaps alluded to above. This, however, is terrorism. And by the way, governments do fake terror attacks, bombings, execute assassinations, and organise insurrections; ours would not be the first one to do so. The question is why would an ANC government make believe that the security of the country is under threat? Is it because the ANC is on the cusp of oblivion? The decline in their fortunes has been from a peak of 69.90% in 2004 down to 57.50% in 2019. If the same gradient is maintained, the ANC is expected to attain between 51.35% and 52.85% in the 2024 General Elections. This is in contrast to the doomsayers who predict a sub-50% performance for the ANC in 2024.
I think this is the endgame; the 200 year-long looting of South Africa is complete, and a new cycle has to begin. The new cycle can only begin with the collapse of the old, and out of its ashes new polities will emerge. The new polities will require funding and the lives of their citizens will once again be pledged to swell the ranks of worker-slaves and taxpayers. And the Government is best equipped to bring this about; as it is best placed to control the minds of its people. And all this is at the behest of the power nexus of capital and politics.
