US President Joe Biden will visit Saudi Arabia on July 15 and 16 upon the invitation of King Salman, according to an official Saudi statement.
Biden will meet King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on his first trip to the Kingdom during his presidency.
The meetings are expected to enhance the historic links between the Kingdom and the US, as both nations seek to strengthen the existing areas of cooperation.
Biden and the crown prince will hold discussions that will focus on “various areas of bilateral cooperation and joint efforts to address regional and global challenges,” according to a statement from the Saudi embassy in Washington.
Cooperation on emerging technologies, economic investment, space, renewable energy, cybersecurity, and climate and environmental initiatives, will be among the topics on the agenda during their meeting.
The US leader will begin his regional travel in Israel, where he will meet with Israeli leaders to discuss Israel’s security, prosperity, and its increasing integration into the greater region.
