Concerns have been raised by the CRL surrounding the manner that South Africa receives the Hajj quota from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on an annual basis. The CRL highlighted that the current basis of Hajj quota receipt and distribution is inconsistent with the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. “The irregularities and non-compliance with our laws, is to the detriment of the Muslim citizens of our country,” the Commission commented.
