Yaum Un Jadeed – Judicial Conduct Committee rules Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng to apologise for Pro-Israli comments With Prof Salim Vally- academic at UJ and activist
The JCC has ordered that Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng to apologise and retract the pro-Israel comments he made during a webinar in June last year. The Committee’s order stem from a report in The Sunday Times in June last year, where Mogoeng’s made remarks in which he based his pro-Israel stance on passages from the Bible. NGOs, Africa 4 Palestine, the SA BDS Coalition, and a Durban-based Women’s Cultural Group complained separately to the Commission about the comments in July last year.
