South Africa witnessed a historic event as the first million doses of the Oxford University-Astraeneca Covid-19 vaccine will arrive in South Africa yesterday. The vaccine from the Serum Institute of India, left the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai via Emirates Airlines and made its way to South Africa, bring hope to many affected by the pandemic. Meanwhile the debate around Ivermectin, an animal drug last week approved for compassionate use by the SA Health Products Regulatory Authority, goes on unabated.
