Has a loved one passed away without performing the Fardh Hajj?
Hajj Badal means the performance of the obligatory hajj on behalf of those:
- who have died whilst not having done so;
- who are unable due to illness or disability;
- wishing to offer a voluntary hajj on behalf of someone.
‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Abbaas reported that a woman from Juhaynah came to the Prophet (Saw) and said: “My mother vowed to go for Hajj, but she died before she did so. Can I perform Hajj on her behalf?” He said: Yes, perform Hajj on her behalf. Do you not think if your mother owed a debt that you would pay it off for her? Fulfil her debt to Allah; for Allah is more deserving that what is owed to him should be paid (Bukhari – no.1754)
Last year saw the first year that Cii projects undertook the Hajj Badal initiative, Alhumdulillah, the Ulema that form the Cii Shura council were pleased with the procedure.
Hence,following the success of Hajj badal last year, Cii projects has enlisted more representatives this year to conduct your hajj Badal inshallah.
The initiative is being supervised by a member of the Cii Shura council Ml Mohamed Seedat to ensure that every procedure is done in the correct manner.
This year a team of Ulema, Ustaadhs and students of deen, who reside in Makkah and have completed their fardh hajj, will be appointed to perform the hajj badal on your behalf.
Ml Mohammed has personally undertaken a trip to the holy lands to make arrangements for Hajj Badal and to meet the representatives.
