Zamzam water will now be supplied in 5-liter cans instead of the current 10-liter canisters, according to the National Water Company (NWC), the main operator of the King Abdullah Project for Zamzam water.
The company said the step was taken to meet the rising demand for Zamzam water throughout the year, especially during the high seasons of Ramadan and Haj.
This will also help the company cope with the increasing number of Haj and Umrah pilgrims in the coming years and ensure continuous supply of the blessed water.
The company said filling stations have been modified and distribution points have been programmed to provide Zamzam water in five-liter cans.
Pilgrims can obtain Zamzam water from filling station in Kudai in Makkah, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Muhammad Bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Madinah.
Pilgrims, visitors and residents have been warned against purchasing Zamzam water from vendors to ensure that the water is not adulterated and spurious.
