The Ameer of Tableeghi Jamaat, Haji Abdul Wahab, passed away this morning after a prolonged illness at the age of 95.
Haji Abdul Wahab was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Lahore. He was admitted to the hospital five days ago after his health deteriorated and doctors had declared his condition very critical.
Haji Wahab was born on 1st January 1923 in Dehli and migrated to Pakistan after independence.
After migrating to Pakistan, Haji Wahab graduated from Islamic College, Lahore.
He was working as district officer in British India when he joined the Jamaat.
Haji Abdul Wahab was the third emir of the Tableeghi Jamaat. Haji Wahab joined the Jamaat during the life of its founder, Muhammad Ilyas Kandhlawi. He arrived at Nizamuddin markaz on the 1st of January 1944.
He left his job to devote his time and effort to the Jamaat, and he was one of the first five people in Pakistan who offered their entire life for doing deeni work. Thousands of people worldwide flocked to Raiwind to be in the company of this great scholar of deen.
Preparation for the janazah salaah of Haji Abdul Wahhab Saheb are currently underway and will be held at the Pakistan Markaz Raiwind after Zuhr today.
May Allah ta’ala grant him the highest levels of honour and status in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.
