The “father of Taliban” has been assassinated at his home in Rawalpindi

Pakistan’s prime minister, Imran Khan, condemned the killing of this great scholar and religious leader.

Maulana Sami ul Haq was member of the Senate of Pakistan from 1985 to 1997.

The 81 year old was the chancellor of the Deobandi aligned Darul Uloom Haqqania Founded by his father and was the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam political party.

Haq openly promoted the Taliban re-take of Afghanistan stating that in one year they will have the whole of Afghanistan united behind them.

Its been said that he taught people of the region that freedom was everyone’s right and that the war for freedom will not stop until the “outsiders leave.”

A statement By Maulana sums up mission in life.
“I want a true Islamic system in Pakistan. The current Pakistani system of governance was introduced by the British Raj, which means we are still enslaved by that colonial legacy. Our economy, education and judicial system stem from the same exploitative British rule. I want to introduce real Sharia, which was implemented by the four caliphs of Islam.”
