The Johannesburg businessman who was allegedly abducted by a group of armed men posing as police on the N12 this year in March has been reunited with his family.
The family of Shiraz Gathoo, owner of the Devland Cash and Carry wholesaler business in Lenasia issued a statement on Wednesday morning confirming his release.
Gathoo, who was kidnapped on 10 March 2018, was returned to his family safely in the early hours of this morning.
At this stage, there are no details of Gathoo’s condition, where he had been kept and whether there was any ransom paid for his release.
It was reported at the time of his kidnapping that he was pulled from his vehicle and shoved into another one by his alleged abductors.
