Water is a valuable resource in both life and in the ways of Islam, and as such, it is considered a great charitable act in Islam to give water to another living thing on earth. Such act is greatly rewarded and brings us closer to Allah Ta’ala.
A living thing can be another human being, an animal or even a plant; these are all Allah SWT’s creations.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) once narrated:“The best form of charity is to give someone water.”
Water is a basic commodity and many provinces in South Africa are currently facing a shortage of it. It is a sad situation indeed, especially in the Western Cape.
The severe water shortage has led to strict water restrictions.
The dire situation directly affects SANZAF’s Western Cape offices that rely on a constant water supply for their monthly feeding schemes which benefit thousands of needy people every month. A plan for providing water to the elderly who simply cannot get to distribution points has been implemented and further increased the need.
As a national organization SANZAF is urging you to assist our fellow South Africans by helping them reach their monthly target amount of R150 000 for water. This amount is used to acquire water from other SANZAF regions across the country and will allow SANZAF Western Cape to continue their much needed efforts every month.
Be part of the solution and continue to make a difference in the lives of over 4000 individuals every month!
