A shootout in Lenasia in the South of Johannesburg has resulted in the death in one community member and one of the suspects.
A local businessman, Shah Manjoo, had succumbed to his injuries, while a former teacher at the Extension 11 Ashraful Madressa has been critically injured and rushed to hospital in a serious condition
Hafez Shiraz Omar has been transported by paramedics to the Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto. He is in a serious but stable condition.
The incident has been reported to have happened on Lark Street in Extension 1.
Police are on the scene.
Two other suspects have also been injured in the incident.
A third Resident is reported to have suffered gun shot wounds to his hands and is being treated at a Lenasia Hospital.
