A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan early Saturday, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
The tremor, recorded at a depth of just 10 kilometers, occurred at 1:44am and was centered at latitude 29.67°N and longitude 66.10°E.
This marks the fourth tremor in recent weeks, following a series of quakes — most notably a 4.2-magnitude earthquake on May 5.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received.
Due to its shallow depth, the quake has a higher likelihood of triggering aftershocks. Shallow earthquakes often cause more intense surface shaking, increasing the risk of structural damage and casualties.
The NCS confirmed the details in a post on X, highlighting the elevated risk associated with such seismic activity.
