Centres instructed to correct driving licence backlog

    12 November 2020| 26 Rabi ul Awwal 1442|Enca

The Department of Transport said it is dedicating 70 percent of all booking slots to driving licenses renewals.

The announcement was made by MEC Jacob Mamabolo.

This is to address the current backlogs.

Mamabolo held a meeting with the Road Traffic Management Corporation as well as members of the Mayoral Committees in all municipalities.

He admitted there was a problem with allocating slots for driving licence renewals.

He’s warned that Driver Testing Licensing Centre managers who undermine this directive will be dealt with harshly and face possible suspension.
