While Muslims worldwide celebrate Ramadan with special meals and tasty treats, millions of Yemenis are going hungry.
They are facing what the UN calls the “largest humanitarian crisis in the world”.This is the third Ramadan Yemen faces in a state of war. Many are struggling to get enough food to stay alive.
The UN has warned that 17 million Yemenis will be in famine unless the world sends urgent humanitarian help.
More than two million children are acutely malnourished in Yemen. Aid workers say almost half a million of them are suffering from severe acute malnutrition which is a life-threatening condition.
